Professional Background

Mr. Anic’s legal career started with a large Calgary firm where he practiced primarily  Insurance litigation. In 1996, he joined the Fleming LLP law firm as an associate before becoming a partner in 2001 during which time, Mr. Anic carried on a general litigation practice. In 2014, the partners and associates of Fleming LLP joined Miles Davison LLP and Mr. Anic has been a partner of Miles Davison LLP since that time. Mr. Anic has extensive litigation experience and practices predominantly in the areas of dispute resolution, including administrative law, commercial and civil litigation (specifically general contract disputes, major construction litigation, foreclosure, personal injury and other tort claims), human rights, employment and privacy law. Mr. Anic has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta as well as the Labour Relations Board, the Alberta Human Rights Commission and numerous other administrative boards, and he has also provided counsel before many professional associations and tribunals.

Personal Background & Interests

Mr. Anic was born in Ljubuski, Bosnia & Hercegovina but has called Calgary home for most of his life. Mr. Anic remains proud of his heritage and endeavors to maintain his fluency in his native Croatian language. Mr. Anic enjoys participating in many sports and hobbies including volleyball, ice hockey, golf and any water sports involving a boat. When not in the office, Mr. Anic can be found enjoying the Calgary summers at his summer retreat on Sylvan Lake or escaping the Calgary winters in his winter getaway in Las Vegas.
