Professional Background
Jim articled in Calgary and has been a partner of the
firm since 1972. He has conducted a general practice
with an emphasis on litigation and has appeared
before all levels of the Alberta Courts. He successfully
conducted the defense of a liability claim against
a ski area in one of the longest civil jury trials in Alberta.
Jim continues to advise ski area clients on risk management and represents a number of insurance underwriters in the defence of sport related liability claims and other types of claims.
Although much of Jim's time is spent in the defence of ski areas and in the field of sport and adventure liability work, he continues to maintain a general practice in the areas of insurance, matrimonial and corporate-commercial law.
